The Data Today: Audiences and Industry

What is the current state of broadcast/media? In this session we illustrate trends based on data, and create a baseline from which we can measure success. Among the areas we consider: changes in demographics, use of online media, and value ascribed to it; levels and quality of Internet access, and use of Internet-enabled devices; broadcast media ratings, advertising income, and other sources of funding; and the financial performance of media sector organisations. We also interrogate some of the hype around media futures.
