Desirable futures

“It’s tough to make predictions, especially about the future”, as Yogi Berra probably didn’t say. In reality, many developments have been well anticipated and described, including the Internet. The real difficulty with predicting the future is to describe how something will come to pass, when, and what form it will take. Setting aside these details, in this session we describe the media futures we hope and expect to see in the medium- and long-term. Articulating these visions helps us think about and debate the futures we want, inspires us, and helps clarify what we should focus on in the present.
